Celestron 31042 AstroMaster 114 EQ Reflector Telescope : Ref 115 of 117 people found the following review helpfulNot Too Shabby (4 1/2 stars) By DapperFatty on March 3, 2012 This telescope is great but daunting. This is my first telescope. It was very easy to assemble, and the instructions are very simple to follow. it is also very light weight and pretty compact making it easy to travel with. I live in Mesa, AZ and there are a few mountains around here that I can hike up, and taking this with me is no trouble at all. Red Dot Scope: The Red Dot Scope has proven itself pretty much useless. I cannot tell where i’m supposed to put my head in order to have it lined up with the view of the scope itself. it is slightly adjustable, but I have not been able to line it up with what I see in the scope. Because of this i usually find myself just pointing the red dot at an object and then moving the scope in mini circles while looking through the eye piece. *(Tip: if you are looking for a bright object you can pull the eyepiece all the way out of focus. This will make the object look like a big bright disc with a cross in it. When you see this disc you can start focusing while adjusting the angle of the scope. It makes the hunt sooo much easier. Do not use this method with the moon. It’s just too big.)* Balancing: You cannot perfectly balance this scope. Because of the aesthetics on the scope i cannot center the scope in the rings where it will be perfectly balanced, however i have not tried mounting the scope just off center of it’s bracket to change the position of its axis of rotation. At the same time i feel that i shouldn’t have to. Since i cannot perfectly balance the scope i find at certain extreme angles the scope will rotate on its own, however because of the method i use to find objects with this scope that balance issue does not really affect me since i’ll be holding the scope the entire time until i lock it in.Read more › 7 Comments Was this review helpful to you? Fotodiox 5′x7′ Collapsible Chromakey Green + Blue 2- 15 of 15 people found the following review helpfulGreat Product with GREAT Service! By Nancy Latulipe on January 10, 2012 Verified Purchase I ordered this for Christmas, and when it came in, the envelope was all bent up. This was by no doubt a fault from USPS shipping, so don’t think this was their fault. I opened it up, and it was broken. The actual collapsible part had been shattered in shipping. I was very angry, so I shot them an email over at fotodiox. With no hesitation, they send me a brand new one, and I didn’t even have to return the broken one. That right there is GREAT customer service! I will certaintly buy more fotodiox products, since they’re pretty high quality. And yes, this greenscreen/bluescreen does NOT reflect light, and is a very luminate green/blue, giving you an AMAZING key. Comment Was this review helpful to you? I also bought the Lasolite 3355 stand and the CowboyStudio Photography/Video 3-light kit with umbrellas (check my other reviews.) For under $300, I have a quasi-professional green screen studio for our corporate videos.Adding a light kit is imperative to get the best green screen effect. Once I added the lights, the green screen dropped right out using iMovie. Easy to replace with another background and look like a professional video/photo. I’ve been using the green side; have not tried the blue side.Even without the light kit, I have very little light bleeding through the material. I have a huge window behind my desk and even with blinds open, very little light bleeds through. The added stand mentioned above puts the backdrop at just the right height for a seated subject, or you can also use vertically for a standing one.I later bought the Studio Hut 5 x 7 brown/grey background (also left review for that.) That one is great for headshot photos, video conferences, etc.As far as folding it, yes, the YouTube videos help. But it’s really not hard once you get it the first time. I

Nikon D610 24.3 MP CMOS FX-Format Digital SLR Kit with 28-30 246 of 281 people found the following review helpfulStunning Images, Great Camera - the Camera that D600 Should Have Been By Sterling G. Wells on November 2, 2013Style Name: Body OnlyConfiguration: Base Edit for clarity: I do actually own the D610.Nikon has finally got it right with the D610 - it is truly a fantastic camera, and that’s quite a statement coming from a former D600 owner like myself. The D600 was an absolute debacle; after 2 replacements I still had massive dust and oil problems. I strongly disagree with the way Nikon “handled” the D600 problem, but people should know that the D610 is truly a fantastic camera. I was motivated to write this review after I saw numerous people writing poor reviews of the D610 based on their disapproval of Nikon’s actions.I don’t think it’s fair to criticize the D610 based on the shortcomings of its predecessor, so I wanted to take the time to say that all of the problems I had with the D600 seem to have been solved with this camera. My D610 produces absolutely fantastic images and there hasn’t been a hint of the dust or oil problems that plagued the D600.For detailed analysis of this camera and its image quality, check out; they do a much better job of objectively reviewing cameras than I can. But in my opinion the D610 is an excellent camera. I highly recommend it. (window.AmazonUIPageJS ?
